Welcome to

Permaculture Music

Music is everywhere – and permaculture is now practised in most countries around the globe. As permaculture grows it becomes a unique set of practices for each country and culture, all based on the same ethics and principles.

All cultures have music and song at their heart. They are ways of storing and sharing important knowledge and inspiration, and are a great teaching tool that can grow out of any culture and be shared between cultures.

Music is a vital medium for spreading enjoyment and entertainment in our lives and cultures. So this project recognises and celebrates music and permaculture together. It’s purpose is to help enable music to enhance permaculture’s vital role in creating the resilient, sustainable, healthy and abundant world, and to have a great groovin’ never-ending festival of us all working together with music’s transformative ability, rhythm and energy.

We’re jammin’ with permaculture music, so we hope you like jammin’ too!

About Us

The permaculture music project objectives are:

  • To make music a stronger, more creative element of the permaculture movement, and ‘to distil the movement that is permaculture into music’

Education & Projects

Direct support from this project will enable more people – young people in particular – to be trained, inspired and engaged in permaculture through more courses, demonstration sites and more music. In particular, we want to develop ways to involve young people in permaculture in refugee communities, in urban communities around the world, and who are on their own learning journeys to find their positive purpose and path in life, wherever they are in the world.

The PMP website will make a wide range of education resources available to support people who are practising permaculture in their lives, and to support and encourage permaculture courses, teacher training and permaculture learning and demonstration projects around the world. It will also signpost them to other useful resources and organisations.

We will create a short guide to Permaculture Music, with short videos telling the stories and describing creative processes behind the examples of PermaMusic created by this project, including examples of how they can be used educationally.

Connecting Permaculture Musicians

If you’ve got digital skills or network building skills that can help us create this ‘PermaMusic Web’ and are happy to donate your time for free, please contact us via the Permaculture Music group on Mighty Networks.
